Today was a day for wandering the tianguis -- the travelling market that was in 'our town', Ajijic, today. Among other treats, we found gorgeous tomatoes, an avocado that was perfect, and a freshly baked baguette -- all of which went towards our supper on the patio.
The dish to the right is carnitas, bits of cooked pork that are similar to hard-cooked bacon. The dark liquid on the little dish is a gorgeously rendered-down balsamic vinegar sauce -- a treat my pal brought south from a specialty shop in Whistler, B.C.
